Scientific Name: Hoya wayetii 'Variegata'
Synonyms: Wax Flower, Porcelain Flower
- An exquisite cluster of waxy flowers
- Striking variegated foliage
- Trailing & cascading growth
- Waterwise & easy care
- Plant Level: Easy to Medium
It is almost impossible not to fall in love with Hoyas. Celebrated for their unique waxy leaves and incredible, star-like flower clusters, they are an absolute staple for plant lovers.
The Hoya Wayetii 'Variegata' takes a classic favourite to the next level. Featuring narrow, elongated leaves framed by dark margins, this beauty bursts with creamy-white to soft-pink variegation down the centre. Trail it off a high shelf or let it cascade in a hanging planter; it adds instant charm to any bright spot. Given the right care, you might even be rewarded with its signature deep red-maroon blooms.
Give your Hoya plenty of bright, indirect light to keep those gorgeous pink and cream colours popping. As a semi-succulent, it stores water in its thick leaves, so always let the top half of the soil dry out completely between waterings. When in doubt, under-watering is always safer than over-watering!
Please note: Hoyas are non-toxic to pets, but their sap can cause mild skin irritation.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these instructions to keep your Hoya Wayetii healthy and happy.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Typically, water the plant when the soil recedes slightly from the edge of the pot. In winter, keep the soil a little drier but not to the point where the leaves shrivel.
Light: Very bright indirect light, especially if you'd like your Hoya to flower.
Humidity: Medium Humidity should be fine. Place in a "stable" environment – not too humid or drafty.
Fertilize: Balanced liquid fertiliser about every 4 weeks in the Spring and Summer.
