If this is your first encounter with the Calathea Orbifolia houseplant, sit down and take a moment. Your life will be different from now: This stupendous looking plant will be with you for the rest of your life. It's subtle yet striking orbic patterning, on a light green, round leaf, is something to behold. It's the thing one wants to see first when walking in the front door.

If the pot size allows it, your Orbifolia will grow into a lush, full house plant that will continue to delight. Find a nice brightly lit spot at a level that the foliage can be appreciated from above. A high humidity area, such as your bathroom or kitchen would be ideal if you don't want to mist it often.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these instructions to keep your Calathea Orbifolia healthy and happy:

Water: Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.
Light: Medium to bright indirect light, consider rotating your plant to face the "light source" regularly for even distribution of growth.
Humidity: Medium to high humidity, will appreciate being misted regularly. Brown foliage spots are indications of air that is too dry.
Fertilize: Balanced Fertilizer every 2 weeks, reduce to monthly in winter.

EDIT: After my post below, the team at Plantify have really gone above and beyond to save my lily. Thank you so much to Austen, Andreas and Kayleigh for all your help. The service has been fantastic! I got my lily repotted with new soil at Plantify but two weeks later fungus gnats began to emerge from the soil. My other indoor plants weren't affected so the bug eggs must have been in the new soil I got from Plantify. The store recommended that I 'starve' my plant (i.e. no water). It's been three weeks since I stopped watering my plant and the bugs are still there. My lily is basically going to die before these bugs do. I wish I hadn't gotten new soil from Plantify.
